US President Donald Trump has announced that he has called off a military strike on Iran that was planned for Tuesday (today), at the request of the leaders of the Persian Gulf countries.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the decision was made following requests from the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as according to him "serious negotiations are underway."

He added that he has been informed that a "very acceptable" agreement can be reached for the United States, emphasizing that "Iran will not have nuclear weapons."

However, Trump warned that the US remains ready to launch "a full and large-scale attack on Iran at any moment" if an acceptable deal is not reached.

On the other hand, a senior Iranian military commander warned Washington not to make "strategic mistakes and miscalculations again," increasing tensions between the two countries.
