A 42-year-old Albanian man shot and killed his 38-year-old wife in Switzerland.
He then set the house on fire and was found dead by firefighters.
The alleged perpetrator, Ramiz Berisha from the municipality of Malisheva, Kosovo, had a problematic past with his wife, and his wife had previously filed a domestic violence lawsuit against him.
The 42-year-old had just been released from prison after serving a sentence on this charge, just a short time before the tragic crime was committed.
The Berisha couple had four minor children and lived in the village of Epagny, Switzerland.
During the incident, in addition to the firearm, it is suspected that the perpetrator also used a grenade.
This detail raises suspicions that the event was well-planned and prepared in advance.
The fire that destroyed the house where the victims' bodies were found was deliberately lit by the suspected perpetrator, Ramiz Berisha, after the act of murdering his wife.
Fortunately, the four minor children were not there when the incident occurred.
