Prosecutor Beqë Shala, who serves in the General Department of the Basic Prosecution in Prizren, was arrested on the orders of his colleagues.

The action for his arrest was carried out by order of the Special Prosecution Office, by police investigators of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes within the Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren, Petrit Kryeziu .

The statement says he is under investigation for corruption, but it is not yet clear what the charges are.

The Prosecutorial System announces that Prosecutor Shala has been handcuffed at his workplace, and is suspected of the criminal offense of "Accepting a Bribe".

Police notification:

The suspect B.Sh., a prosecutor at the Basic Prosecution Office of Prizren, was arrested at his workplace.

The Special Prosecution Office, together with the Kosovo Police, is undertaking all necessary investigative actions, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code and applicable laws.
