US warns of attack on Iran's underground nuclear base

US President Donald Trump said the US will "strike" Iran's Mount Kazma "very soon".

The fortified underground facility is located about a mile south of Natanz in central Iran and was declared to the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency in 2020 as a future facility to assemble centrifuges that produce nuclear fuel.

When asked if he believed Iran had moved nuclear centrifuges to the country, Trump said "we don't have it on record."

"It doesn't mean anything if they don't have the material. They don't have it, we follow the material, that's where the action is," the president said.

"We're going to hit that area very quickly. And there's nothing they can do about it. You know, normally I wouldn't say that. If I thought they could do something about it, I would never say it. But we're going to hit that area very quickly and very hard," Trump continued.

Trump made a similar comment last week, when he said his country would "probably be testing the Pickaxe relatively soon."

CNN reported earlier Tuesday that Israel believes Iran has moved advanced centrifuges and part of its enriched uranium stockpile to the country after the 12-day war last June, according to an Israeli source familiar with the matter.
