200 kilograms of pure cocaine that came from South America has been seized in the Port of Livorno in Italy.

The narcotics were brought to Italy in two refrigerated containers loaded with bananas, which had passed through Ecuador a month ago.

A detailed inspection of several containers made it possible to find the narcotic substance, divided into 180 packages wrapped in insulation and covered with a layer of lead, a trick used by drug traffickers to better store drugs and avoid technical controls.

However, these tools were not enough and thanks to the tools used by the customs police, as well as subsequent manual checks, the large load of drugs was found, hidden in the container.

If it were to be released on the market, the cocaine would be worth more than 60 million euros. So far, no arrests have been reported.
