Official Russia has reacted harshly to the terrorist attack by an armed group of Serbs in the north of Kosovo, accusing Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, through a statement stated that Kurti tries to ignite the conflict to "cleanse the territory of the Serbs". She said that these events could lead the Balkans "to a dangerous precipice".
It seems that the harsh rhetoric of the Kremlin is in full sync with Belgrade to be victimized, although yesterday's failed terrorist attack on Kosovo revealed their plans to undermine not only the north of Kosovo but the entire security in the region.
"Yesterday's bloodshed is a direct result of the course taken by the so-called Prime Minister Albin Kurti to ignite the conflict and cleanse the territory of the Serbs," said Russian diplomat Zahkarova.
The efforts of the head of the government of Kosovo to "provoke Western countries to increase the pressure on Serbia to force Belgrade to recognize the 'independence' of Kosovo, is a dangerous game that has a high cost and brings the entire region dangerously close to Balkans on a dangerous slope," Zakharova declared.
"The immediate threat of a revival of ethnic cleansing, previously practiced by Kosovar Albanian radicals, becomes apparent," she said.
Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, also commented on the event, considering the current situation as "potentially dangerous", although he added that Moscow did not have enough information to comment on the events.
