The American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, has strongly condemned the attack on the Kosovo police, calling it unacceptable.

He wrote on the X social network that the governments of Kosovo and Serbia should avoid actions that could further fuel tensions and immediately return to dialogue mediated by the EU.

“Sulmet e dhunshme të fundit ndaj Policisë së Kosovës pranë Manastirit të Banjskës janë të papranueshme. I bëjmë thirrje qeverive të Kosovës dhe Serbisë që të shmangin veprimet që mund të nxisin më tej tensionet dhe t’i kthehen menjëherë dialogut të lehtësuar nga BE-ja”, u shpreh ai në rrjetin social X.

Për rreth 1 ditë një prej komunave në veri të Kosovës, Zveçani ka qenë pre e një sulmi të paprecedentë nga ana grupeve kriminale serbe, të cilët vranë efektivin në detyrë Afrim Bunjakun. Grupe të organizuara me uniforma, të armatosur rëndë mësynë në veri të Kosovës qëlluan në drejtim të policisë së Kosovës, duke vrarë 1 dhe duke plagosur 2 të tjerë.

In the evening hours, the Minister of the Interior of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, said that three attackers were killed, while six people, who were suspected to be in contact with them, were arrested.

After the event, there were a series of consecutive reactions starting from the Kosovo authorities, the international community, the media and the Serbian authorities.

The two heads of state, Kurti and Vucic, have attacked each other as the cause of the situation. Kurti called the group militarily prepared in Belgrade, while Vucic said that "even if they kill us all, we will not recognize Kosovo".
