Montenegro's newest prime minister, Albanian Dritan Abazovic, has spoken out in favor of the "Open Balkans" initiative, an initiative his country has previously rejected. He made it part of Kosovo to participate, because according to him, it is the latter that benefits the most by being part of this initiative.
The "Open Balkans" is made for six states, it is not made for five and a half states or three and a half states, or for 4.7 states, but for six states. Everyone who participates represents themselves and their state. "My opinion, maybe I am wrong, is that the biggest interest in the region is for Kosovo to be in every regional initiative," Abazovic said in an interview with Klan Kosova.
Recall that about two weeks ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that there will be an official invitation to Montenegro to join the Open Balkans at the Ohrid summit.
"We are very interested in others being involved that the Open Balkans was created to be inclusive, and talking to the new Prime Minister of Montenegro, imagine if someone told you 5 years ago that the Western Balkans with 6 countries, there would be 3 Albanian prime ministers, today is a reality, it can be a good thing or a bad thing, but it is not a little, it is a lot, as it is clear that Albanians at this time who have reconnected bridges with Europe move forward if they know behave like people of peace, this is a little, but safe and we will return to Montenegro, it's up to the Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia to make the invitation, that the next summit will be in Ohrid, and I for my part will do my encouragement for Dritan to be at the table, has been optimistic about this initiative, but comes Montenegro, Kosovo, or Bosnia,"The Open Balkans will continue, everyone will come one day, whoever comes later will have lost more."said Rama
