"Cigars and champagne, who cares?!"/ Trump's EPIC comment to the Israeli president: Forgive Netanyahu!

US President Donald Trump made an extraordinary call during his speech to the Knesset on Monday for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to receive a pardon due to ongoing legal problems.

" Mr. President, why don't you pardon him ," Trump said , directing the comment to Israeli President Isaac Herzog .

It was an extraordinary intervention in Israel's internal affairs by the American leader, who had previously called for Netanyahu's corruption trial to be dropped.

Trump acknowledged that his comment was not prepared remarks. But he said he couldn't help but support his ally.

"I like this gentleman here, and it seems to make a lot of sense, you know, whether we like it or not, this has been one of the greatest wartime presidents," he said.

" Cigars and champagne, who cares, " he said, referring to the accusation that Netanyahu had received expensive gifts such as cigars and champagne from foreign businessmen.
