Why did he ask for his shoes seconds after dodging the bullet? Trump clarifies

In one of the videos released from the assassination attempt on the candidate for President of the United States, Donald Trump, he can be heard saying: "I have to get my shoes."

Trump then explained that the agents jumped on his body with such force to bring him to the ground that the former president's shoes were knocked off.

"And I usually tie them tight," Trump said with a smile in an interview.

He also commented on the famous photo raising his fist and saying "fight" three times.

"A lot of people say this is the most iconic picture they've ever seen. They are right and I did not die. Usually you have to die to have an iconic photo", he said in this interview.

Also, among other things, he thanked the Secret Service officers for the way they reacted and congratulated them for being able to neutralize the author.

Meanwhile, the former Secret Service agent, Timothy Miller, told BBC Newsday that the area should have been armored by police forces, especially in the area where the author was located.

"Once it was identified that there was an unknown armed person on that roof, at a distance of 150 meters from the president, the anti-sniper teams should have taken action immediately and properly," he says.

"And as you see what happened, you realize it was all failure after failure," Miller adds.

Miller says that if the former president had not turned his head slightly the other way, the gunman would have killed him and "we would be commenting on a very different situation."
