Poland prepares for war

Poland is preparing a new legal status, called the "state of full war readiness," which will enable authorities to react to security threats even before the official declaration of a state of war.

The news was announced by Maciej Samsonowicz, an advisor to the Polish Minister of Defense, who said the bill aims to fill the legal gap between peacetime and the start of an armed conflict.

"We are working on this as well. I don't want to go into details. In the project it is called 'full combat readiness state'," Samsonowicz said.

According to him, Poland's current legal framework may not be sufficient in the event that war approaches the country's borders, but the conditions for the official declaration of a state of emergency have not yet been met.

The draft law will allow the government to begin deploying troops, preparing strategic infrastructure, and welcoming NATO allied forces earlier, without waiting for the declaration of a state of war.

In parallel, the Polish Ministry of Defense is drafting a special bill on strategic investments and facilitating the movement of military forces. In the event of a deterioration in the security situation, the army will receive additional powers to coordinate military columns even before the outbreak of fighting.
