Kosovo's acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has hinted that his party, the Vetëvendosje Movement, as the winner of the February 9 parliamentary elections, may fail to form the country's new government.

During his stay in London, he told his compatriots that elections are likely the alternative.

"It's not easy, because I don't know how to explain it to you, maybe you've heard it yourself, the atmosphere has become very intoxicated, there is a lot of jealousy and anger, and cynicism much more than ideas, work and passion. But, we are where we are and we will try to form the Government. But, it seems, the alternative is that we will go to elections again."

He also spoke about the offer he made to Fatmir Limaj before the Assembly was constituted, saying that he offered him the position of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, a ministry, and 2 deputy ministerial positions.

Kurti was nominated on October 11 by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, to form the new Government.

According to the laws, he has until October 26 to form a government. If he fails, then the second party is given the opportunity to form the government, if the latter proves that it has the numbers. Otherwise, early elections are called.
