Meet the second "Earth", the planet where NASA thinks there may be

This is "Second Earth", 100 light years away from us. A NASA mission has discovered an exoplanet orbiting a small star that has rocky formations and is 95 percent the size of our planet.

The celestial body, named "TOI 700 e", exists in an area that can support life, that is, it has the right distance from its Sun that enables the formation of liquid water on its surface. Another planet in that space system, discovered in 2020 and named "TOI 700 d", is also the size of our Earth.

Scientists from NASA's TESS mission said the potential presence of water suggests that these planets may have existed at some point in their history and may have had the conditions for life to develop.

The two exoplanets that are in the "life zone" of their Sun, planets D and E, complete a complete revolution around themselves in 37 days and 28 days, respectively.

NASA's TESS mission launched in 2018 to monitor the brightest stars and their trajectories in the southern and northern sky, making some of the most important discoveries in the direction of humanity's biggest question: whether or not there life beyond our planet, Earth.
