A woman has been pulled alive from the rubble of a hotel in Myanmar, where she was trapped for nearly 60 hours after a devastating earthquake struck the country on Friday.

Rescue teams, many of them volunteers, have been working around the clock to extract people trapped in collapsed buildings.

The earthquake has caused over 1,700 deaths and massive damage across the country.

The true extent of the damage is still unknown, and many more victims are suspected to be under the rubble. China, among others, has sent aid and personnel to support the rescue efforts.

A video of the woman's rescue, who was carried away on a stretcher, shows people applauding the miracle, as she was reported to be in a stable condition.

Rescue teams continue to work across central Myanmar, where buildings such as homes, schools, hotels and hospitals have been severely damaged.

Another tragic event occurred when a pregnant woman was freed from the rubble after two days, but unfortunately she later died. Rescue teams are continuing their efforts, but help is insufficient due to the lack of equipment and difficult conditions.

Meanwhile, in the Thai capital, Bangkok, there has been an explosion in a building, where 76 workers are thought to be trapped.

The death toll in Myanmar could reach as many as 10,000, while losses could exceed the country's annual economic output, according to projections by the US Geological Survey.
