Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Anton Berisha, has passed away.

The news was announced by his son, Genci, through a Facebook post, saying that the death was due to a short illness he had.

"Dear family and friends, With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we inform you that our dear father, Anton Berisha, today, on January 2, after a short illness, left this life, leaving behind an unimaginable void in our hearts," he wrote on Facebook.

Anton Berisha was a member of the AAK, a party from which he resigned about 5 years ago. He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs during the government of Ramush Haradinaj.
