Model and influencer Niece Waidhofer has ended her life by committing suicide. The model often worked to help her followers through their battles for mental health, writes TMZ.

One of her family members wrote: "Niece ended her life after a long battle with mental health problems."

Niece was 31 years old and lived in Houston.

Her family recounted some details: "She was very open with her followers about the battle with mental health, she even wanted to help her followers."

It is said that a non-profit organization called "Peace from Niece" will be created in her honor and the organization will focus on mental health awareness and will provide grants for research related to mental illness.

The family of the deceased says she felt proud of the work she was doing, helping her followers.

As to the circumstances of her death, a family member took police to check her home in Houston as she did not respond.

The influencer had amassed 4.2 million followers on Instagram.

Niece relatives say she was a very creative, talented, beautiful and polite girl.

"Niece was beautiful and kind, sensitive and cheerful, creative and talented, generous and compassionate. "It's very painful to say goodbye, but we are comforted that she has already reunited with her father, her three grandparents, Uncle Rusty and her boyfriend Puff."
