The reaction of the Serbian List did not take long after the swearing in of the new mayor of Mitrovica. In a press conference, the vice-president, Igor Simiç, said that with the oath of Erden Atiç from the Vetëvendosje Movement, the occupation of the north had officially begun.

He gave the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, time until June 1 to "stop the repression, expropriation, arrest, persecution and attacks against Serbs".

"If this continues, the response of the Serbian people will follow on June 1st and they will defend themselves with all means", warns Simic.
