United States President Donald Trump reacted through a message to Iran's supreme leader when asked about Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's recent comments that his country "will never surrender" in the conflict with Israel.
"I say, good luck," Trump said from the White House.
Asked when his patience with Iran would run out, Trump said: "It's already run out - that's why we're doing what we're doing."
These comments come as CNN has reported that Trump is becoming increasingly open to using US military assets to strike Iranian nuclear facilities and is hesitant about the idea of ??a diplomatic solution to end Tehran's escalating conflict with Israel.
However, the president indicated that "nothing is too late" when it comes to a diplomatic solution.
Trump also said he has spoken every day with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, offering praise for his counterpart.
Earlier, Iran's supreme leader warned Trump of "irreparable damage" if the US joins Israeli attacks.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also said Iran would not surrender, following an earlier warning from the US president.
Israel struck two Iranian centrifuge production sites overnight, the UN nuclear watchdog says, while Iran says it targeted Israel with a hypersonic missile.
