Turkey's Ministry of National Defense has announced that a ballistic missile launched by Iran has crossed over the airspace of Iraq and Syria, then headed towards Turkish territory.
Through an official announcement, Turkish authorities explained that the missile was neutralized in the air by NATO air and missile defense systems before it entered Turkish airspace.
According to the same sources, the fragment that fell in the Dortyol region, in Hatay province, has been identified as part of an air defense system munition that intercepted the target in the air.
Authorities confirmed that no victims or injured persons were reported from the incident, while the situation is being monitored by the relevant security structures.
