Greek Prime Minister in strong tones: What is happening in Gaza is unjustified and unacceptable

"What is happening" in Gaza is "unjustified and unacceptable. Israel must immediately cease these operations."

This was stated by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in an interview with Greek television Skai.

"Greece maintains a strategic alliance with Israel and we must tell our allies the truth," the Greek prime minister continued.

"I also told Netanyahu privately that the horrific attack on October 7 cannot justify operations with disproportionate humanitarian costs," Mitsotakis added.

The strong but also unexpected statement by the Greek prime minister, a country that holds the presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of May, has caused quite a few reactions in the neighboring country.
