The Israeli Embassy in the United States of America published a photo of two of its employees, Yaron and Sarah, who were victims of a shooting in Washington.
"They were in the prime of their youth," the embassy said in its response, adding that "a terrorist shot and killed them as they were leaving an event" at the Jewish Museum in the American capital.
US authorities arrested a 30-year-old man from Chicago in connection with the incident. At the time of his arrest, Elias Rodriguez was filmed shouting: "Freedom, freedom for Palestine."

Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter said the two victims would soon become engaged.
"He bought the ring this week to propose to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem. They were a beautiful couple," he said.
Following the assassination, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed missions abroad to increase security measures.
