China and India recognize "Russian aggression" at the UN

China and India, so far opposed to Moscow's condemnation of its invasion of Ukraine, have voted for a UN General Assembly resolution on relations between the United Nations and the Council of Europe, which explicitly refers to "aggression by Russian Federation towards Ukraine".

The green light for the text of the resolution, approved last week by 122 votes to five with 18 abstentions, represents the first diplomatic shift of course in Delhi and Beijing's position on Putin's war in Ukraine.

A step praised by EU High Representative Josep Borrell on Twitter.
