Russian President Vladimir Putin warned NATO saying that if "Kiev uses Western missiles in Russia, the alliance will be at war."
His statement comes after the UK decided to allow Ukraine to use its long-range Storm Shadow missiles for strikes inside Russian territory.
Kiev has long insisted on lifting the restrictions placed on it to use such weapons against the aggressor country, arguing that these restrictions are stifling its efforts to win this war. Washington fears that allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with US weapons could escalate the situation.
A day ago, Kiev was visited by the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken and his British counterpart, David Lammy. Their suspension came shortly after US confirmation that Iran had delivered ballistic missiles to Russia, giving Moscow what Blinken described as "an additional capability and additional flexibility" in the conflict.
Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelensky accused Brazil and China of negotiating only with Russia. The Ukrainian president said that Moscow's army has launched a counteroffensive in Russia's Kursk region.
On the other hand, the Moscow army "is confidently pushing the Ukrainian troops out of the Kursk region and will surely succeed", said Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov in this regard.
