The outgoing Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka , and his son Fuat Damka have ended up in police custody.

Father and son are accused of the criminal offense of "Threat and Assault". 

Their arrest came after the Turkish Innovative Movement Party (YTHP) publicly accused the leader of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP), Fikrim Damka, of physically assaulting a YTHP parliamentary candidate. 

The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Prizren region, Shaqir Bytyqi, who announced that the two suspects in the attack will be held for 48 hours at the police station.

"Yesterday, on 09.02.2025, at around 18:00, a case of "Threat and Assault" was reported in Prizren. The police interviewed the suspects FD and FD and the victims, and other evidence and testimony were collected. After the interview, by decision of the prosecutor, the two suspects were detained for 48 hours in police custody," the Police announced.
