At the Tanagra air base in Greece, the alarm was raised when four Chinese nationals were seen by Hellenic military authorities photographing sensitive military installations in the area.

Their movements were considered suspicious and raised "shadow" espionage, as among the things they recorded were Rafale fighter jets.

According to reports, the four Chinese - two men, a woman and a young man - were initially spotted by the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAI) Security, which asked them to leave the area. However, they went to a nearby bridge and continued to photograph the Greek Army and 114th Fighter Wing installations, ignoring the recommendations.

The 114th Air Force Wing was immediately notified. They intervened and located the individuals, subsequently arresting them. The Chinese were then handed over to the police and taken to the Tanagra police station.

Initial information indicates that they were in possession of a significant amount of photographic material from the area, while it is being examined whether this is an isolated incident or an action with characteristics of systematic recording.

The case is being investigated with due seriousness by the Greek side, while the findings have already been put under evaluation by the competent security services.
