Greek army vehicles in Santorini

Heavy military vehicles and firefighting equipment have arrived today on the Greek island of Santorini, which has been under constant earthquake tremors for almost a week.

Army vehicles, "EMAK" patrols and firefighters arrived in Santorini at noon on Thursday, while emergency measures remain in force on the island due to the ongoing seismic sequence.

Specifically, two heavy military vehicles were landed on the island, five heavy vehicles, two tanks with generators, two fire engines and many other necessary machinery for emergencies arrived.

Scientists and seismologists fear a major earthquake above magnitude 6, however, there are those who argue that such a thing will not happen.

The next day, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to visit the island, which is now almost empty.
