Regional affairs expert, Enver Bytyçi, has analyzed the political situation in Kosovo a few days before the parliamentary elections to be held on February 9.

In an interview with "TëPashoq", Bytyçi predicted that Vetëvendosje will be the first party, while also talking about the ranking of opposition parties in Sunday's elections.

According to him, the LDK will grow in these elections after it has made changes to the party and its program, which, for Byty?, will have a positive impact on voters.

"I think that the Democratic League of Kosovo will grow and will emerge as the second party. This is because of the way it has conducted the electoral campaign. From the support I have seen and from the political program it has. Although it seems to me to be a futuristic, unrealizable program and from the compactness that the Democratic League maintains as a traditional party in Kosovo. While the Democratic Party of Kosovo, although it has a clean candidate for prime minister and with prestige and a special personality," said Bytyçi.

Meanwhile, as for PDK, Bytyçi is skeptical because it has not reformed after the 2021 defeat. According to the expert on regional issues, PDK continues to have a contingent of people accused of corruption cases in its composition. Bytyçi further adds the fact that PDK has been the one that has pushed the plan for the division of Kosovo the most.

"PDK is not reformed. PDK but also LDK have fled from power with serious accusations of corruption and collaboration in the plunder of Kosovo's assets."

Bytyçi was asked if he had a prediction regarding the percentage that VV could win in the parliamentary elections, and stressed that he thought it would reach over 40%, but would not reach the majority of 51%.

"Grenell's criticisms will help Kurti. Grenell attacks because of his connections with Belgrade, he feels obligated because of his connections and maintains these positions towards Kurti. I think Grenell is mistaken if he thinks that with such accusations he will overthrow or harm Kurti. After all, at the moment he was overthrown from power, and everyone knows that Grenell overthrown Kurti the first time, Kurti increased his electorate by 15%. I think that if Grenell continues the accusations and he finds a language for the electorate to respond to them, we will have a strengthening of Kurti's positions by 2 or 3 points, in these days that are left until election day. I think it will be over 40%, but not that it will reach 51%", said Bytyçi.
