The German diplomat beats his husband to death, after trampling and killing him

Uwe Herbert Hahn, who works as the German consul in Rio de Janeiro, is accused of murdering her Belgian husband Walter Henri Maximilien Biot on Saturday - just a week before his 53rd birthday.

The body of Walter Henri Maximilien Biot was found lifeless and with numerous hematomas. Uwe Herbert Hahn will not receive diplomatic immunity due to the severity of the charges against him. Hahn told officials that Biot died after a combination of drinking and sleeping pills caused him to fall and hit his head.

But a forensic report found Biot found in the couple's Ipanema Beach apartment had been brutally beaten. The report found that Biot's body had "various bruises on the torso, similar to injuries caused by trampling, as well as signs of being hit by a cylindrical object."

"The version of events given by the consul, that the victim suffered a fall, is incompatible with the conclusions of the forensic report," said Lourenco, of the 14th district of the Rio de Janeiro police.

Hahn is accused not only of lying about how her husband died, but also of trying to cover up the scene before the police arrived, the New York Post reports .
