The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reacted after the gun attack this Saturday against Police officials in the north of the country.
Through a post on social networks, Kurti stated that they have started the investigations regarding the attack, where 10 shots were fired in the direction of the Border Police.
Kurti emphasized that fortunately there were no victims from this event, as he added that criminal gangs continue to set up barricades against law enforcement and the fight against organized crime.
"Fortunately, there were no casualties and a full investigation is now underway. Today, the streets are barricaded. But criminal gangs continue to barricade themselves against our law enforcement agencies and our fight against organized crime," Kurti wrote on Twitter.
"This is the second time in less than a week that the Kosovo Police has been attacked by criminal gangs in the northern part, just six days after the incidents on Sunday when local Serbs blocked the roads in protest against the introduction of reciprocity of license plates and issued IDs from Serbia", Kurti writes on the social network, Twitter.
The border surveillance unit in Zubin Potok was attacked 10 times with firearms while it was deploying a patrol boat in Lake Ujman, but no one was injured.
The event comes just a few days after the tensions noted in the North of Kosovo due to the decision to implement the reciprocity of license plates and identity cards for the Serbs of the North.
The latter blocked the roads in protest using heavy tonnage vehicles.
