At least 14 people have died after a devastating fire broke out in a packed nightclub in Thailand. More than 40 others have been injured, 14 of whom were seriously injured by the flames in the bar about 90 miles southeast of Bangkok in the early hours of the morning, writes the Daily Mail.
Poignant footage showed bystanders fleeing the building as flames and smoke billowed from it at around 1am on Friday.
Screams are heard in the background, while some people who have come out of the building are engulfed in flames.
Firefighters said the blaze was accelerated by foam that had been sprayed on the walls to soundproof the club, and it took firefighters more than three hours to bring the blaze under control. Witnesses report that the fire spread rapidly, engulfing the building within a minute.
The incident happened at nightfall on Mount B in Chonburi province's Sattahip district, about 25 miles from the popular resort town of Pattaya.
The Sawang Rojanathammasathan Rescue Foundation said the flames were accelerated by foam that had been sprayed on the walls to soundproof the club, and it took firefighters more than three hours to control the blaze.
