The candidate for prime minister from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, has declared that PDK will not form a coalition with the Vetëvendosje Movement.
"Self-determination has lost a large number of votes. Many citizens who had voted for it have now turned their backs on it. They came to us in PDK and LDK. The incumbent Prime Minister presented the elections as a referendum on himself, but the goal was not achieved. He asked for 500,000 votes, but he did not get them. The citizens did not give it to him. Today, the majority of Albanian citizens do not want the same government to continue. The opposition parties have been strengthened in these elections. We will not be involved in any coalition with LVV," he said.
Hamza said that PDK has major differences with VV, adding that they "want absolute power and have no program."
The candidate for prime minister said he is waiting for the final results, and added that he expects to have over 200,000 votes. Speaking about the VV, Hamza said they have incited hatred during the campaign.
"They offended their opponents and through this the citizens of Kosovo. They incited hatred and we incited unity and cooperation, therefore we have an obligation to give the government to the citizens who love it and have voted for it. We will take steps at the right time to implement the will of the majority. We will work to give them a government that the majority voted for," he added.
