United States President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire with Iran is "extremely weak" and is in a critical state, while the US administration is considering the possibility of resuming military action against Tehran.

During a statement in the Oval Office, Trump compared the ceasefire situation to a patient "on life support," saying the chances of the agreement's survival are minimal.

According to Axios reports, Trump will hold a meeting with his national security team this Monday to discuss next steps in the conflict with Iran, including the possibility of resuming military operations.

The meeting is expected to be attended by Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and other senior American officials.

Trump accused Tehran of withdrawing an agreement to allow the US to remove its stockpile of enriched uranium, while calling Iran's latest proposal to end the war "unacceptable" and "rubbish."

On the other hand, Iran has rejected the American proposal, stating that Washington's demands constitute "surrender" to Trump's conditions.

However, the US president said that a diplomatic solution still remains possible and said that his administration has a plan to end the conflict.

According to two US officials cited by Axios, Trump is leaning toward taking some form of military action to increase pressure on the Iranian regime and force it to make concessions on its nuclear program.
