But the many suspicions that have been raised have prompted a public reaction for the first time from the Kremlin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today commented on the rumors about the deteriorating health of Russian President Vladimir Putin, citing the Russian news agency Tass.

Lavrov said that Putin makes public appearances every day and people have the opportunity to prove for themselves that the President has no signs of illness, while leaving in the conscience of all those who have disseminated information according to him false.

"President Vladimir Putin makes public appearances every day. You can see him on TV screens, read and listen to his speeches.

I do not think that a reasonable person can suspect any sign of an illness in this man.

"I will leave it in the conscience of those who spread such rumors, despite the daily opportunities for everyone to see what he and others look like," Lavrov said.
