The Assembly of Albania announced on Friday that it had handed over to the Council of Europe the resolution adopted on 21 July, where the findings of Dick Marty's war crimes report by the Kosovo Liberation Army are condemned as false.

But almost 11 years ago, in the KiE Assembly, Albania voted pro-report. The assembly approved on 25 January 2011 166 pro votes and only 8 against the resolution with which it called for organ trafficking investigations in Kosovo and northern Albania, as Swiss MP Dick Marty has accused in its report.

It was also on the basis of this resolution that the Special Court was frozen, where Hashim Thaci and other former KLA leaders are being tried today. Albania was represented in this assembly by three Deputies. But how did they judge Marty's report? Salvini Ii, representative of the PDIU was one of 8 people who voted against it.

"The rapporteur is not the prosecutor, but he's not even Dan Broa, so I'll say something more reasonable. In his report, there is no name for a dead person whose organs have been removed. Let's say the witnesses who are alive are scared, what about the dead? Why are they missing from this report?" said The Oblast.

Even the SP representative, at the time in opposition, Damian Gjiknuri voted against the report.

"Unfortunately, we must accept that this report has only added more political problems and mystery in the region and has provided nothing new and important. There is no adequate evidence, and in many cases, it seems like a political opinion rather than an investigative report," he stated.

DP Representative Ilir Rusmajli was the only member of the Albanian delegation to vote pro-report.

"Whatever the claims, they should not be used to draw hasty, or baseless, conclusions. They should not give way to collective condemnation of specific groups, political forces, or even nations. In this respect, I invite the rapporteur and honourable members to vote with me," Rusmajli said.
