The government continues to expand the list of strategic investors with other names of businessmen who receive free state land given by the Committee of Strategic Investments (KIS).

The last one to receive the status of "strategic investor" is Agim Zeqo, otherwise known as "Gimi i Red Bull", one of Prime Minister Edi Rama's favorite businessmen, not only for the benefits in business, but also for the appointments to key positions in the government of his trusted people, as was the case of the former Deputy Minister of Finance, Albana Shkurta.

The government has given 10,000 square meters of free state land in the city of Korça to the company "Investment and Development Albania", which will build a tourist resort there. This company is owned by businessmen Agim Zeqo, Gerian Kuka and Ilir Shtufi. Agim Zeqo is the majority shareholder with 40% of the shares, while the other two partners each have 30% of the shares.

In the decision approved by KIS, it is stated that the company "Investment and Development Albania" will invest over 18 million euros for the construction of an elite tourist structure called "Green House Korça Resort". This project contains a 5-star hotel, with a total capacity of 94 rooms, restaurants, bars, SPA, etc. and anticipates employing 94 people in this resort. According to the project, the hotel to be built will be managed by the well-known international hotel brand "Acor".

The status "Investment/Strategic Investor Assisted Procedure" is granted to the investment project "Green House Korça Resort", for a period of 4 years.

The strategic investment project will be developed in Cadastral Area 8561, from where the surface of 10 thousand m², with property number 1/911, is state property, property type "land", located in Korçë Municipality. The property has passed under the administration of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment with VKM on May 19, 2021.

The government is committed to, in addition to the land, assist the company in carrying out the procedures with priority and within the accelerated deadlines, in accordance with the legislation on strategic investments. Likewise, the investment benefits from assistance from the state in relation to the granting of permits, licenses and authorizations necessary for the realization of the project. Meanwhile, in parallel, it is enabled to connect to the electricity network, the water supply network, and the sewage system.

In the decision of the KIS, it is stated that in the event that during the development and implementation of the strategic project "Green House Korça Resort" untrue, false data or changes to newly released data are found, on the basis of which it would not have been decided to approval of the strategic status of this project with the assisted procedure, the Strategic Investments Committee has the right to revoke the decision to grant the strategic status.

In general, the strategic investments approved so far have mainly targeted the coastal area. This is the first strategic investment approved for the city of Korça.
