The prosecutor's office of Elbasan said that the way the two Russian citizens and the Ukrainian reacted to the Albanian soldiers and then the attempt to escape led them to suspect that they were not bloggers, but spies.
Even the way of reaction of Ilir Meta to SPAK after the latter has started the investigations for the reports filed by former deputy Halit Valteri is more or less the same, despite the fact that it comes in other forms.
If the Russians and Ukrainians tried to leave, Ilir Meta chose to attack the head of SPAK, Arben Kraja and the reform of justice. He called the region a 'party scumbag' and the reform in justice returned to be described as "Ramaform".
But let's stop the attacks on Arben Kraja. Kraja is in the last months of SPAK's leadership and the balance in this 3-year mandate is not up to the public's expectations. He has been criticized for his silence in front of the sensational files he has in his drawers, from January 21, Gërdeci, the Cez-Dia file to the last two reports submitted by Halit Valteri.
In a good part of these files, the name of Ilir Meta appears, whom he had as his superior in 2001-2002, when he headed the anti-corruption structure in the government headed by Meta. Today, more than 20 years later, Ilir Meta addresses Arben Kraja through his colleagues, reminding him that he was an investigator during the communist regime.
"This investigator of communism, has he verified his generalities? Ilir Rexhep Metaj has passed the Vetting of the people who have evaluated him in his 30 years in the most active politics and he does not need to do the verification for the Son of Communism. Deal with the incinerators Beni and learn to walk on your own, not in the footsteps of Tao and Edwin who changes generalities and cards at will," wrote Silva Caka, media coordinator for the Freedom Party.
It is strange how Ilir Meta discovered after 20 or so years that Arben Kraja had been an investigator of the regime. Did he not know this when he appointed him to head the anti-corruption unit in the government two decades ago?
Kraja also reflects the work in this unit in his CV. He says that from March 2001 to May 2002, he worked as the head of the Anticorruption Unit under the Prime Minister of that time, and Ilir Meta was the Prime Minister for most of that time.
Meta held this post from November 1999 to February 2002. So, three months after Ilir Meta left the post of Prime Minister, Arben Kraja also leaves the position of head of the Anticorruption Unit.
Kraja's position is categorized as a civil servant, i.e. an apolitical post, therefore the reason for his departure after the departure of Ilir Meta raises doubts that he was placed and held in this position with Meta's blessing. In his CV, Kraja says that during these months in office he drafted the government's first anti-corruption strategy.
How successful this strategy was is debatable, due to the fact that the governments of Ilir Meta and then of Fatos Nano have been accused of being among the most corrupt in the country. The responsibilities of the director of the Anti-corruption Unit at the Prime Minister include the coordination of all the Government's dependent institutions and periodic informing of the Prime Minister on policies, plans and decisions related to the fight against corruption.
This means that during this period, Arben Kraja reported to Ilir Meta about the fight against corruption.
