The Director of Fier Prison, Arjan Hasani, has resigned from his post today.
Sources from the General Directorate of Prisons inform that Hasani has submitted a request to leave the Director of Prisons for personal reasons.
Arjan Hasani is a career officer and has been described as one of the best managers in the Albanian prison system.
During Hasan's leadership, the European Union provided a fund of several million euros for the reconstruction of Fier Prison.
For years, Hasani had turned this prison into a rehabilitation center, where the prisoners performed various sports and cultural activities.
The former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, also served his sentence in Fier Prison.
A few weeks ago, Tahiri asked to leave this prison to go to the Kosovo prison in Lushnje.
The news circulated in the media that the clash with director Hasani was the reason for the departure, but Tahir's lawyer gave the official version.
Maks Haxhia has denied that there was a conflict between his client and the director of the Fier prison. He added that Tahiri has not complained and that he is one of the most disciplined in the prison, but that he has long wanted to be transferred to Lushnje because of the better conditions.
"I am not saying 2 times a week, but once in 2 weeks, and I have a lot of contact with Saimir Tahir, who is a very strict enforcer of the law. I don't know that he has a conflict with the director, but he himself asked to go to Lushnja because there are many other convicts there for various criminal offenses and because of the easy access to meet his family. He has not complained to me about strict rules, he has been disciplined and very strict with the prison rules. I don't know about the conflict, I left it to go on Monday, but I don't believe there is one. He hasn't been asking for it for a long time, he has been telling me for 10 days, and he even asked to go to Lushnja on the day he was banned. Fier Prison is the newest building," Haxhia said.
Ervin Bushi has been appointed to replace Arjan Hasan in Fier Prison.
Ervin Bushi, previously held the position of head of ALUIZNI and ASHK Fier.
In addition to the rumors that he had in his duties, especially as the head of Hipoteka, Bushi is also remembered in the media for a public clash with Petro Koçi.
Petro Koçi called SPAK to go to Fier and investigate the tenders, which according to him, are benefited by drug traffickers. After this strong statement, the former head of Hipoteka in Fier, Ervin Bushi, reacted, who wrote: I feel dirty when you say that the performance of Ashk Fier was the indicator for the loss of mandates or the result achieved in the elections! Shame on you for denying the results of the colossal work of the former Directorate of Aluizni and the current Ashk Fier! How sorry I am when you totally deny the truth when you say that Ashk Fier had a low performance! You sir bring them to the head of the party in Fier, I know very well that in 2013 Aluizni started work with only 800 files legalized by the predecessors and now since I don't know, I will say that we have brought the number of legalized apartments to 21,000.
Bushi in Fier is known as a political exponent who has connections with the world of crime, and for this reason, he was appointed in charge of the prison, where some of them are out, but some are serving their sentence.
