Our country has become a laughing stock in relation to the countries of the region or those of the European Union, as initiatives to control the territory with satellites or photographs from space have already burdened the state coffers. Initially, a tender worth over 7 million euros was opened to build two satellites, which would monitor forests, fires, illegal construction or even control the occupation of spaces on the beaches.
An empty propaganda, as it produced only a few chronicles and speeches by heads of state, which are not at all useful for protecting the lives or property of ordinary people. And, to “correct” this tender, the Albanian Development Fund later intervened, spending almost 3 million euros, contracting a Turkish firm to photograph Albania from the air.
Until today, we have not seen how efficient these tenders have been in Albania, how much they have helped state authorities, or how much they have helped ordinary people, who in these times have only seen numerous projects of occupying large spaces by the government.

And just when we thought this nonsense was over, here comes another highly dubious project by state institutions. The National Agency for Protected Areas has opened a tender for "large-scale afforestation through precision planting with drones."
An unheard of initiative not only in Albania, but also in the most advanced countries, as during these times we have seen not the planting of trees, but the massacre of forests, and consequently massive landslides. The axe has not spared protected areas either, as with or without permission, forests in Albania are being flattened day by day.
The famous moratoriums have brought control of the axe-wielding statesmen, as municipalities and protected areas make tenders for forest clearings, when in fact not only clearings are being done, but massive logging. Now comes the famous drone planting project, where in the coming weeks or months we will see spectacles of ministers or the prime minister himself who will distribute images of how seedlings will be scattered on barren surfaces.
According to documents available to Vox News, the National Agency for Protected Areas will spend 500 million old lekë on this initiative, which is not known how effective it will be. If it will have the same fate as satellites or photographs, time will tell whether it is about propaganda or concrete work.
