The aftermath of Hajdin Sejdi's pit also follows the "Mountain of Tirana" - History and what will be the fate of the 58-story tower that was to be built in the center of the capital?

Anyone who lived in Tirana in the early 1990s knows well the story of Hajdin Sejdia's grave, dug in the middle of Tirana, right behind the Theater and Opera building.

In 1991, businessman from Peja and residing in Switzerland, Ajdin Sejdia, received the right from the "Nano" government to build a gigantic 50-story building in the park behind the Opera House.

Sejdia only managed to dig a giant hole, while the building remained on paper.

The building was never built, while the sinkhole went down in the history of the capital as the ugliest thing that had ever happened to Tirana.

This, after an ambitious project turned it into a giant pit, where people threw garbage.

Only in 2012, the pit was closed and turned into a flower garden, where Lulzim Basha was the mayor of Tirana.

Basha stated at the time that the owners would be compensated and the green space would be available to citizens.

For 10 years, until 2022, the area behind the Opera House stood as a large flower garden, near the center of Tirana.

In October 2022, it was decided to build a giant tower there named "Mount Tirana".

It is a 58-story tower with 7 underground floors.

The entity that has undertaken the construction of the 58-story tower is "Nova Construction 2012".

The company was established in 2012 and is owned by Kujtim Shtufi and Ilir Shtufi.

The company "Nova Construction 2012" has obtained other construction permits in areas near the center of Tirana.

It is now surrounded and a large hole has been dug there!

But it seems that it will remain the same, as in the time of Hajdin Sejdi.

This, after today's SPAK action, which led to the arrest of one of the investors of this tower, Ilir Shtufi.

The latter is accused of laundering drug traffickers' money with the towers he built.
