The clashes between two former partners, Behgjet Pacolli and Valon Ademi, over the Vlora International Airport have created an unprecedented situation.
This Monday morning, the clash almost ended in a fight between employees from both sides.
Vlora Airport has been one of Prime Minister Rama's big promises.
And now that it's almost over, we find ourselves faced with a major impasse that is unlikely to be resolved.
This, after the conflict between Pacolli and Adem ended in court, and it is known how long a case must be reviewed in our courts.
Even more so when considering the weight of this trial.
But beyond that, this is not a purely personal conflict between two businessmen.
It is a conflict that also includes the Albanian state, as an airport initiated by the Government has been taken hostage.
And the most serious fact here is that segments of the Government themselves are said to have sided with one of the partners, Valon Ademi, thus blocking Vlora Airport.
Pacolli himself has tried to resolve this situation with the mediation of Prime Minister Rama, but apparently to no avail.
Therefore, now we are not simply dealing with a conflict between two businessmen, but with an issue that involves the Albanian Government and state itself.
That, must find a solution to this situation, not to favor one or the other, but to put Vlora Airport into operation.
Otherwise, we will find ourselves facing a ghost airport that will never be put into operation.
Vlora Airport and the Llogara tunnel aim to turn the Albanian Riviera into a year-round tourist destination.
Therefore, in Palasa, Dhërmi, Jalë, etc., dozens of luxury resorts have been built in recent years.
But apparently, they had not anticipated this impasse, which could directly block the arrival of thousands of foreign tourists.
