The saga of Edi Rama's personal quarrel with Francesco Becchetti has ended with a very bitter end for Albanian citizens.
The Italian businessman has executed the 110 million euro arbitration fine in Belgium by taking all the money of Albania's air space, which was kept blocked in the Eurocontrol account, since December 2020.
Three days ago, Eurocontrol officially notified the Albanian government and the Albcontrol company that Becchetti's executor has executed the arbitration decision, after the approval he received from the Belgian court.
Although the announcement is kept strictly secret, Capital confirmed the news from three independent sources in different ministries, but also in Belgium.
Eurocontrol's announcement about the execution of the fine has come as a bombshell to the government.
Faced with the fait accompli, the government has tried to mitigate the situation by distributing in a coordinated manner to the media a news that Becchetti has bribed the judges of the Arbitration and the decision was made with corruption.
For this, the government has also distributed an investigation contracted by it, where testimonies of several people are shown, who say that Becchetti appointed arbitration judges and set up businesses for their family members.
But beyond this fact, the result is now final. Despite Edi Rama's vows and the insistence of his courtiers that Francesco Becchett would not receive a single penny, the Italian businessman took a full 110 million euros from the Albanian citizens in exchange for nothing.
The biggest damage in history
The salty bill of 110 million euros that Becchetti took from the Albanian citizens is the biggest damage in the history of Albania.
This damage is responsible with specific names, all of whom are found in the decision of the Court of Arbitration.
The first is Prime Minister Edi Rama with his public statements against the Italian businessman, which the court considered as evidence of Becchetti's political persecution.
SPAK is silent
Although it is about one of the most flagrant and serious abuses in the history of Albania, the Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has not taken any active action on this matter. Even the opposition seems silent in the face of this unprecedented scandal.
But although SPAK is silent and the opposition may be silent, the responsibility of 110 million euros screams louder.
Every Albanian citizen from zero to 100+ years old was given 50 euros each at the drop of a pencil. For the whims of Edi Rama, Veliaj and Agac.
This cannot remain without responsibility, otherwise take the justice reform and then drink the juice./ Capital
