It is not the first time Sali Berisha has clashed with actors of the party in the Assembly, but this Thursday's plenary session had stronger overtoes than before and in the midst of the debates was SPAK.
The former Prime Minister asked the Special Prosecution account why he was not investigating ministers, former ministers, deputies and former deputies of the party, but also of the opposition. He asked SPAK to investigate Edi Rama's villa in Surrel, but also the villa of The Oblast.
"Ask few representatives of SPAK, KLGJ, KLD and in a row to tell you why they do not investigate Eddie Rama's Sarajet with a foundation length of 57 meters, with a 5,000 m yard declared to have bought it at 2 euros at a time when it was sold at 20 euros or 40 euros in that area? Ask little why they do not investigate the Basha family's palace for which they have no tax, customs, banking, construction bills, but reward the builder, just three weeks ago with 11m euros with 99 per cent of the limit fund and alone in the race?" berisha said.
Until this session, Sali Berisha's public speeches had focused on rising fuel and food prices, even with this reasoncalled the July 7th protest. However, there was no mention of 'oil oligarchs' at that protest.
But what forced Salvini to change course and already switch to calls to the SPAK to investigate Rama, his ministers to The Oblast? An indication of what the change may have been given initially by justice minister Ulsi Manja.
"The attack on the bodies of justice shows that justice is functioning. Every time he's hardly attacked justice, he's had it in dna. Today there is a problem and this is new that justice has begun to move. The others belong to the past," Manja said.
What's Berisha's trouble? In the SPAK are a series of files handed over by the Socialists where he is required to be questioned and even defendant Sali Berisha or his family and relatives. The most popular are Gerdeci, January 21st, near CEZ-DIA and the privatisation of the "Partizan" complex, where the Socialists have accused for years that after this privatisation lies Berisha's groom and daughter.
For these files, SPAK has made no public reaction. Starting from the indicia given by Ulsi Manja, a reaction could arrive in the days, or weeks ahead, meaning that the Special Prosecution may have pushed ahead with investigations into one of these files.
This was reinforced by The Balla. In the past, the head of the Socialist parliamentary group has publicly expressed remarks to the SPAK for failing to act on the statements he has personally deposited against Sali Berisha. This Thursday, labeling Salvini a "devil", Balla spoke convinced that he would leave parliament.
"The devil has been removed from justice, but we have work to remove him from Parliament. We'll take it off, it's a matter of time. The devil in here is going to leave. As long as our partner, the US says he is a person accused of high-level corruption, here in Albania, SPAK is still looking for evidence. The evidence is there. I'm one of them to send you endless evidence. I've been told they recorded a case for the Partizan complex," Balla said.
As elected by vote, Berisha's departure from the Assembly can only happen if he renounces the mp's mandate himself, or if investigated, tried and sentenced by justice. For the first, Berisha gave no signal, rather. For the second, the signal says The Balla.
As a result, Berisha's entire rhetoric at this Thursday's session in the Assembly may be an indication that the SPAK is shaking dust from the old files where the former Prime Minister and his family have been accused and this dusting has frightened him.
