Property insurance increases by 5 percent. How much does the company earn from this insurance policy?

From January to September of this year, Albanians have chosen to secure more of their property. The latest data from the Financial Supervision Authority show that the value of gross written premiums and the number of contracts concluded between insurance companies and citizens, has undergone a significant increase in this nine-month period.

Specifically, fire and other property damage insurance from the non-life category totals nearly 2.1 billion ALL in gross written premiums, about 4.7% more than in the period January-September 2023, where the income collected by companies from this insurance policy it was only 2 billion.

In the portfolios of Property, Liabilities, Guarantees, which during the period January-September 2024 provided over 3.1 billion ALL in total income, the first place was taken by fire and other damage to property with about 68.88%, followed by Liability insurance Overall with 22.22% of the total.

Real estate insurance can include insurance against fire caused by any human accident, from lightning, flood, earthquake, or even theft of the home or business. Official statistics show that the volume of gross written premiums in non-life insurance reached 16.8 billion ALL, marking an increase of 7.24%, while the number of contracts in non-life insurance reached 1 million.
