While the main currencies have marked a significant decline during this week in the international markets, most likely in anticipation of very important decision-making by the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank, their devaluation in the Albanian market is even stronger due to the overvaluation of the lek .

Foreign exchange agents interviewed by Scan Televizion connect this overpricing mostly to internal rather than external factors. According to them, due to a series of factors, including the seasonal one, there are significant amounts of currencies in the market, especially of the common European currency. Meanwhile, the rainfall situation has had a first-hand impact on this overvaluation of the lek.

Due to the increase in domestic production, KESH did not need to provide significant amounts of euros in the domestic market.

The sharp fall in major currencies, especially the euro and the dollar, has been observed throughout this week, to deepen even further on Wednesday. According to the updated data of the Bank of Albania, just a day ago, the dollar depreciated by 1.7 points in relation to the lek, with an average purchase price of 107.1 lek and 108.1 lek for sale.

The devaluation of the common European currency in relation to the lek has been somewhat lower. It has decreased by 0.39 points compared to the previous day, with an average purchase price of ALL 114.4 and for sale, ALL 115.1.

Even more visible were the declines recorded on Tuesday. The US dollar recorded a very strong drop from Monday losing almost 2 points overnight. The European currency also marked a significant decrease in value on Wednesday./Scan
