The Regulatory Commission in North Macedonia reduced oil by 10 Lek this Friday, while in Albania the Board decided to reduce it by only 2 Lek.
In addition to the fact that we buy it more expensively, in our country not even the reductions in the international stock exchanges are properly reflected. If we were to do the calculations according to the Board's formula, oil should have been 181 lek today, but since March it has been announced that the Board recognizes oil operators with 15 lek/liter operating expenses along with the included profit margins.
This 15 lek is already a new tax that the Board imposes on Albanian citizens, who buy oil 50 lek more expensive than North Macedonia for each liter.
Also, during the last nine days, we have seen several other maneuvers of the Albanian Board. On December 1, North Macedonia further reduced the price of oil by 4 Lek, while in Albania the Board on December 2 and 3, with two consecutive decisions, increased the price of oil to a total of 3 Lek.
Throughout the week, we have bought oil more expensively than across the border, while even these days we continue to bear on our shoulders artificially high prices that fill the state budget and the oil companies, but burden the Albanian citizens./TCH
