"Albanians and all the citizens of the Western Balkans have felt one of the most tangible achievements of the negotiations with the EU!"

This is how the chairman of the Regional Cooperation Council, Majlinda Bregu, described the removal of Roaming fees for the countries of the region in a statement for Top News.

According to the former Minister of Integration, this initiative was undertaken and carried forward within the Berlin Process, which is led by Germany.

Speaking to Top News, Bregu said that the agreement signed on Tuesday in Tirana was a continuation of the negotiations and the summit held in Berlin a month ago, thus overshadowing the Open Balkans initiative.

"This agreement bears the signatures of the ministers of the six Balkan countries and not only those that are part of the Open Balkans, thus signaling that the one that has the support of the EU is the Berlin process and not the Open Balkans," Bregu stressed.

Majlinda Bregu states for Top News that after Roaming, there are a number of other initiatives on the EU list, mainly focused on building a common regional market.

She states that the EU has increased negotiations and efforts to build bridges in the Western Balkans region, preparing the region step by step for full integration into the European Union.
