At the end of the month, applications for subsidies in agriculture begin. How

On March 27, applications for the benefit of subsidies for farmers from the national agriculture scheme begin.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, said that this year's innovations include the removal of ceiling limits for applicants and higher funding with subsidies for joint applications of farmers of the same production.

"This year the Subsidy Scheme has a higher benefit for each applicant, thanks to the prioritization that is done through the union of operators, a contract between farmers to realize the same product to the same market and the same sanitary protocol.

To make it concrete: if 4 members are together with a land area of 1 hectare, each of them receives in a separate account the amount of financing at the maximum level. This merger of operators does not mean a merger of properties, but a merger of interests and production, because this is the only way we can increase scale, increase product automation and above all target the same market.

This year's National Scheme is applied without ceilings. Ceilings, which previously limited the application for more than, for example, 300 head of cattle, do not exist. We will give 50% of the financing of each measure for each head of cattle over 300, and thus encourage more herd growth and work to realize an even higher economy of scale".

The Minister of Agriculture Denaj affirmed that this year will continue with the oil subsidy scheme without excise duty, that this year the reimbursement will be distributed directly to farmers' accounts.

Oil is a very important component of the National Scheme, in other words the direct subsidy that farmers have been receiving for three years. This year, we decided that thanks to the requests of many applicants, we would remove bureaucracy, excess time and refund it directly to the account. This will be carried out throughout the year aiming at a higher formalization of farmers in this Scheme.

The medicinal plant sector will also be included in the provision of direct subsidies. "The sector of aromatic and medicinal plants engages many families in mountainous rural areas, and this year we thought of making them part of the Scheme, giving them the possibility of direct application. And directly affecting a very important sector of agriculture, which is in its first steps, but sure of the elite markets such as those of the European Union", asserted Denaj.

According to Denaj, the applications start on March 27 and until then the agriculture office is fully available for any question, any clarification for the applicants.

Last year, Minister Denaj said that 65,000 farmers benefited from the subsidy scheme, while this year it is intended to exceed 70,000 beneficiaries or 77% of all registered farmers in Albania.
