From January 2026, the Albanian government will completely change the financial support scheme for newborns.

There will no longer be an immediate amount in the form of a birth certificate, as has been the case for the last six years, but support will be in the form of a monthly payment for each child up to the age of 5.

The new scheme provides monthly financial support for each child born, depending on their ranking in the family.

According to the new plan:

For the first child: 5,000 lek per month (60,000 lek per year, 300,000 lek in 5 years), up from the 40,000 lek currently being the bonus.

For the second child: 7,000 lek per month (84,000 lek per year, 420,000 lek in 5 years), up from the 80,000 lek given today.

For the third child and each subsequent child: 10,000 lek per month (120,000 lek per year, 600,000 lek in 5 years), out of the 120,000 lek currently given as a bonus.
