Where is it most dangerous to be a driver? Lebanon takes the first place, how is

Drivers, especially in underdeveloped areas, face various problems. UK-based Global Positioning Specialists in their world study "Most Dangerous Places to Drive", investigated the quality of roads, the number of road deaths and motor vehicle crime statistics in 60 of the most car-dependent countries around the world in a quest to find out where it's most dangerous to be a driver.

In this publication, we also find Albania ranked 33rd among the 60 countries analyzed. This report has evaluated the quality of the roads in Albania with 3.9 points, where the value 1 represents extremely underdeveloped roads, and the value 7 means wide and efficient roads or among the best in the world. Another indicator that the report analyzes is the rate of deaths from road accidents per 100,000 inhabitants, where in Albania it turns out to be about 15 fatalities. On the other hand, the rate of theft of road vehicles in relation to the number of the population was also evaluated, where in our country about 14 vehicles were stolen per 100,000 inhabitants. Albania turns out to be among the countries with the lowest rate of vehicle theft in relation to the number of the population.

Lebanon ranked first as the most dangerous country in the world to be a driver, with a high fatality rate of 22.6 per 100,000 inhabitants, extremely poor road quality conditions and a motor vehicle theft rate of 179 thefts per 100,000 inhabitants.

Uruguay was revealed as the second most dangerous country to be a driver, followed by Colombia, Costa Rica and Greece in 5th place as the most dangerous countries to be a driver. Among the other European countries ranked among the 20 most dangerous countries, we find Italy in 9th place, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.

Singapore and Switzerland are ranked as the least dangerous countries to drive. These places are rated for good road quality and low fatality and theft rates.

At the regional level, North Macedonia is positioned in 32nd place, i.e. weaker than Albania, while Serbia is ranked in 41st place.
