Kardhiq-Delvinë, additional costs/ ARRSH is ready to announce the tender

Additional roads of the Kardhiq-Delvina axis will require additional funds to be completed, while the Albanian Road Authority plans to open a tender, with a limited fund of 234.2 million ALL.

Through this tendering procedure, the completion of the works on the road segments Ura e Krane - Qafë Botë, Ura e Krane - Ura e Gajdar and the improvement of the road segment Shijan - Ura e Gajdar, which are part of this project, while during the time of the initial tender ARRSH informed that the interventions are necessary to make the road axis Kardhiq - Delvina as accessible and efficient as possible.

The value contract for this segment was concluded in December 2021, while providing for a duration of works of 24 months.

Its value reached 1.6 billion ALL with VAT. Kardhiq - Delvinë is the only road axis that the Albanian government is building with direct funds from the state budget, and not through a public private partnership. This axis has a length of 33 km and crosses the district of Gjirokastra, Delvina and Saranda.

Work on its construction began in 2009, but it dragged on for years as a series of tenders took place until it was completed and opened to vehicular traffic.
